The foal was in “wrong” position in the uterus – vet could only feel the base of the neck and it was pulled (once the mare was anesthetized) with its neck and head back along side its chest/abdomen as seen in the pictures – the mare, being a warmblood , even though it was her first foal, had enough room to allow this! Just as well the foal was dead – if the head was moved, it immediately swung back over to the rest of the body!
